This species has been collected in small streams and spring-fed pools in forest; some specimens have been collected at light (Wewalka 1997). At Khlong Maduea the species was collected in a bed of the dried up large river, ca. 10 m wide, with large to small stones, beetles were collected in the puddles, bottom stones, leaf litter. In the bamboo forest, 1 km S Khlog Sisiat Reservoir, specimens were found in a shaded, very shallow, interrupted and small stream, where the beetles were hiding in a thin film of water among smaller stones and gravel. Few other specimens in a shaded and isolated flood pool of that stream, enriched with decaying leaves and twigs.
